Brionac (ブリューナク Buryūnaku) is a high-speed shooting attack possessed by Hayate Yagami in the portable continuity. Notably, she has never cast nor been described as capable of such attack in the primary continuity.

The projectile of Brionac shapes like a dagger. It can be fired even when Hayate is flying, similar to Nanoha Takamachi's Divine Shooter.

Name[edit | edit source]

Brionac is, in Japanese fictions, an alternate name for Lugh's Spear, one of the Four Treasures of the Tuatha Dé Danann in Irish mythology.

Notable uses[edit | edit source]

  • Brionac is one of Hayate's long-range shooting attacks in The Battle of Aces, fired from a magic loop muzzler in front of Hayate. The basic version fires one projectile with random but homing trajectory and can be fired continuously, whilst the charged version fires a single but stronger projectile. In The Gears of Destiny, the muzzler becomes a Midchildan Circle and the charged version is replaced by Maneuver A.C.S.

Possible uses of the spell are noted as follows:

  • In Reflection, Hayate casts with the Tome of the Night Sky's page to generate a knife-shaped projectile for cutting the wires around her legs. However, it is yet to reveal whether this spell is Brionac or not.

Variations[edit | edit source]

Brionac Assault,[1] based on the spell name, seems to be a variation of Brionac. However, its projectiles are actually Balmung's sword-shaped ones, and it is presumably misnamed in The Battle of Aces Official Strategy Guide Book.
