Defenser (ディフェンサー Difensā) is an option unit of Fortress System, an EM Equipment co-manufactured by Caledfwlch Company and the Administrative Bureau's Technical Division in the movie continuity.
It has two different sizes,[1] whose designs are adapted from the large- and medium-sized Fortress shield sub-units originally introduced in Force with minor changes.

It is officially referred to as Independent Floating Shield (独立浮遊シールド Dokuritsu Fuyū Shīrudo) "CWX-Defenser", without any model designation.

Defenser first appears in Reflection. It functions as a shield under the user's control.
Nanoha Takamachi uses two Defensers (personally colored in blue) as option units of her Fortress System. They are usually small-sized, but occasionally she also uses a combination of one large-sized and one small-sized.[2]
Hayate Yagami also uses Defensers (personally colored in gold) in Detonation.
