EM Equipment (電磁装備 Denji Sōbi, lit. Electromagnetic Equipment) is a series of battery-driven, Device-like equipment manufactured by Caledfwlch Company for the Administrative Bureau, or co-developed by them, in the movie continuity in the year of 0067.
The existence of EM Equipment is similar to that of AEC Armament in the primary continuity, as introduced in Force in the year of 0081. However, their reasons of development are not the same, despite similarities in tackling mana-integration (魔力結合 maryoku ketsugō) problems. AEC Armament usually outputs plasma, c/w electromagnetic force by EM Equipment.
Besides pure EM Equipment, certain Devices are also upgraded with Electromagnetic Cartridge Systems for similar functions, e.g. Graf Eisen Modified.
Functionality[]
Some EM Equipment solely use battery units (cartridges) for input and output, e.g. Proto Cannon. Presumably, they can be used by non-mages with the Bureau's permission.
On another hand, some are hybrids that can simultaneously be driven with mana as well (e.g. Fortress Unit), or bear a mana-conversion system (e.g. Rod), so that they can output much electromagnetic force.
