Klarwind (クラールヴィント Kurāruvinto) is Shamal's Armed Device.
It appears to have no programmed gender, and speaks German like other Ancient Belkan Devices.
Name[]
"Klarwind" means "Clear Wind" in German. Despite the official spelling is "Klarwind",[1] some translations render its name as "Klarer Wind", which means the same thing in proper German.
Klarwind is also titled the "Rings of Wind" (風のリング Kaze no Ringu).
Appearances[]
Klarwind is first introduced in the A's manga prologue and then featured in A's, StrikerS manga and StrikerS.
Contrary to its Device type, Klarwind does not have a Cartridge System and is seldom used for direct combat, but can create portals, function as a mobile phone, and perform supportive magics like healing allies.
Alternate continuities[]
In the movie continuity, no significant change is noted in The MOVIE 2nd A's except for the minor changes in designs. In Reflection, Klarwind is first seen on screen attacking opponents physically in its Pendelform.
In the Brave Duel continuity, Klarwind's two active forms in The MOVIE 2nd A's are adapted as Shamal's Brave Duel Device (see Klarwind).
Forms[]
Forms | Primary continuity | Movie continuity |
---|---|---|
Standby Form (待機フォルム Taiki Forumu) |
Appears as four gold rings without any gem, hanging on Shamal's neck-chain.
First seen in A's (ep.3). |
Similar to the primary continuity. |
Ringeform (リンゲフォルム Ringe Forumu, Ger. "Rings Form") |
Takes the form of four rings which Shamal wears (two blue jewel rings on both index fingers and other two green jewel rings on both ring fingers). It can heal allies and detect enemies.
First seen in A's (ep.2). |
Similar to the primary continuity with a minor change in design around the four gems. |
Pendelform (ペンダルフォルム Pendaru Forumu, Ger. "Pendulum Form") |
Takes the form of two (one hand) or four (two hands) pendulums fixed at/wired from the rings. It can create portals (Mirror of Travels), bind opponents, or even attack in close combats when necessary.[2]
First seen in A's (ep.2). |
Similar to the primary continuity without notable changes other than those in Ringeform. |
Functions[]
Upgrades | Description |
---|---|
Interdimensional Communication (次元間通信 Jigenkan Tsūshin) |
Sacrificing the spec for combats, Klarwind acquires the back-up function of Interdimensional Communication, which enables telepathy across different dimension spaces.[3] This is particularly useful for the Wolkenritter, when they collect Linker Cores in different spaces. |
