Lightning Bind (ライトニングバインド Raitoningu Baindo) is Fate Testarossa's binding spell, with a unique function to increase the power of lightning spells in the nearby.
Since the release of The MOVIE 1st in year 2010, the design of Lightning Bind is changed to cubic instead of the original and common ring-shaped.
Name[]
The Inherent Skill equivalent of Lightning Bind has not been named in the series. It is covered in this article for simplicity, until there is other canonical source.
Notable uses[]
- In Nanoha (ep.11) / The MOVIE 1st, Fate casts it as a preset bind on Nanoha Takamachi before shooting her fatal Photon Lancer Phalanx Shift.
- In The MOVIE 2nd A's, Fate casts it in conjunction with Nanoha's Restrict Lock during their buster shift combination attack to immobilise the Will of the Book of Darkness. However, she manages to break the binds, guard the bombardments and uses their respective binding spells (via Use of Collection) to capture them in return.
- In Reflection, Fate casts it in conjunction with Nanoha's Restrict Lock during their battle against Kyrie Florian. However, Kyrie manages to dispel it with her Formula after some time.
Notable uses of equivalent spells under other systems:
- In ViVid anime (ep.2), Nove Nakajima apparently casts the equivalent spell with IS energy on the limbs of Einhard Stratos before attacking with Revolver Spike. In ViVid (ch.4, before anime adaptation), however, the binds are depicted in the form of IS energy loops, binding in a way similar to Ring Bind.
