Mach Caliber (マッハキャリバー Mahha Kyaribā) is Subaru Nakajima's Intelligent Device which takes the form of a pair of rollerblades. It is first introduced in StrikerS and appears again in Sound Stage X.

Functions

Mach Caliber is in synch with Revolver Knuckle, Subaru's Armed Device, allowing it be stored in Mach Caliber when both are inactive as well as some deal of interaction between the two devices. During episode 19 of StrikerS, it was reinforced to be able to keep up with Subaru's cyborg capacities.

Mach Caliber autocasts some of Subaru's spells such as "Wing Road" and "Assault Grip" during combat, and in episode 23 of StrikerS, even fights while Subaru is unconscious, using Wing Road, her jets and Revolver Knuckle.

Personality

Mach Caliber claims she was made to make Subaru stronger and faster, but the latter disagrees because she believes that Mach Caliber, as an Intelligent Device with her own free will, has a soul and was thus born, not made.

Forms

Mach Caliber's design was based on Subaru's own magic rollerskates, which she was had made during her days as a cadet due to her fighting style being completely different from her peers. Additionally, Mach Caliber has two powered-up forms, similar to those of Raising Heart and Bardiche:

• Gear Second. First seen in episode 15 of StrikerS, this form increases the speed of Mach Caliber's movement.
• Gear Excelion. Mach Caliber's Full Drive, this is the "upgraded" version of Gear Second. In this form, Mach Caliber has wings (resembling Nanoha's Axel Fin). Those wings (presumably) enhance Subaru's speed and ability to jump. Mach Caliber says "ACS Standby", indicating that Gear Excelion may allow Subaru to use the Axel Charge System used by Nanoha in Excelion Mode. Subaru uses the Full Drive of her Mach Caliber, followed by a Divine Buster blast from Revolver Knuckle, to knock out her sister Ginga and free her from the control of Jail Scaglietti.
