Mikaya Chevelle (ミカヤ・シェベル Mikaya Sheberu) is a young magic battle athlete first introduced in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid. She is an assistant coach of Tendō-style (天瞳流 Tendō-ryū) Battōjutsu, and a good friend of Nove Nakajima.
Name[]
Mikaya is nicknamed by others as Mika, e.g. Mika-san (by Sieglinde Eremiah), Mika-yan (by Hayate Yagami), Mika-nē (lit. "Mika-sis", by Harry Tribeca). Her family name is presumably a reference to the Chevrolet Chevelle.
In ViVid[]
Mikaya enrols in the 0079 DSAA Intermiddle Championship. It is her eighth time joining so, and her personal best so far is city-wide best 3.
She is first seen in ViVid (ch.20), being a spar opponent Nove picks for Einhard Stratos's special training. As a seed participant of the year's Intermiddle, Mikaya enters directly the Elite Class, but is knocked out by Miura Rinaldi in her first battle.
Later, Mikaya is also invited by Rio Wesley to join the short trip to Leuven, where she spars with and wins Claire Lagreat for a total of four times.
In ViVid Strike![]
Being a good friend of Nove, Mikaya also acts as Consultant Director of Nakajima Gym in addition to her busy coach work at dojo, as planned in ViVid (ch.84) before the Gym is founded.
In ViVid Strike! (ep.5), she discusses with Nove about Fuka Reventon's enrolment in U15 Striker Championship and helps to arrange for sparring partners. After Fuka receives Huracan, Mikaya initiates a spar with Fuka to test her power.
Powers[]
Mikaya's battle style is Batto Iai (抜刀居合), the backsword-drawing techniques using her katana Device named Seiran.
Barrier Jacket[]
