Set in 0063, two years after Fate has been activated and two years before the original series, this Sound Stage explores Fate's past. At the time, Precia is hiding out high in the mountains of [[Mid-Childa]] and has created a familiar named [[Rinis]] to teach magic to Fate. Fate progresses very quickly and Rinis estimates that she will become a full-fledged mage in three years. However, Precia orders her to make it a year, cutting out most of the non-essential material, with which Rinis grudgingly consents and begins constructing an [[Intelligent Device]] to complement Fate's strengths. While Rinis is busy, Fate rescues an infected and dying wolf puppy in the mountains and with Rinis' help, makes it her familiar and names her [[Arf]]. While Fate is away training, Arf runs into Precia, who informs her that familiars are created for a specific purpose and disappear afterwards. Confused and scared, Arf runs away but Fate finds her and offers a contract that basically grants her full freedom, demanding nothing in return. However, Arf voluntarily swears to serve as Fate's protector as her part of the contract. With Rinis and Arf's help, Fate fully masters her spells and [[Mana Conversion Affinity]] within the time limit set by Precia. With her part of the contract with Precia fulfilled, Rinis forfeits her original reward and instead demands that Precia has a family-like dinner with Fate to commemorate her success. With that, Rinis disappears, leaving behind [[Bardiche]], which Precia gives to Fate. Soon thereafter, she starts sending Fate out on various errands but the atmosphere in their house grows ever darker without Rinis. About half a year later, Precia sends Fate and Arf off to search for the [[Jewel Seed]]s.
