Summary

The chapter opens with Einhard's dream about Olivie leaving injured Ingvalt on a battlefield, apparently going off to sacrifice herself and the Cradle to end the war. On the appointed rematch day, Vivio and Einhard meet again in a deserted location. Both revert to their adult forms and Vivio silently acknowledges that she will probably lose. Nevertheless, she fights with full strength, surprising Einhard a few times before being finally knocked out by her. Einhard herself has trouble staying on her feet and acknowledges that she was wrong about Vivio. She then carries the still-unconscious Vivio to a place where she can rest.
