Sacred Defender (セイクリッド・ディフェンダー Seikuriddo Difendā) is a defensive spell used by Vivio Takamachi, making use of her detecting eyes and Sacred Heart's specialization in defense to perform a concentrated defense. Its official spell type is yet to be revealed.
Upon the incoming hit from opponent, defensive mana is concentrated at the hit-point and offensive mana is used to rebound the attack. This instant defence is considered a risky move, despite its toughness which may even free Vivio from all damages if she can fully detect the incoming attack. Mikaya Chevelle comments that it is similar to a pinpoint barrier[1] (like Subaru Nakajima's application of Protection in StrikerS episode 15), although its rebounding effect sounds like a function of shield-type defensive spells.
As explained by Lutecia Alpine, Vivio can fully concentrate her limited mana at the instance of attack or defense. Accel Smash is a (/an example of) concentration at her attacking fist while Sacred Defender is a concentration at the defensing point.[2] Initially Vivio can only use Sacred Defender around her guarding arms, but later she manages to use it elsewhere,[3] such as stomach and head.

- In ViVid (ch.33), Vivio first casts it to defend against Miura Rinaldi's Sword-drawing: Flying Swallow, reducing the damage to less than 3000 points.
- In ViVid (ch.35), Vivio casts it at Full Drive together with Sacred Heart's Axel Mode to cope with Miura's Sword-drawing: Quadruple Starbright.
- In ViVid (ch.58-59), Vivio uses it a few times in her spar-match with Einhard Stratos, at 100% mana allocation.
- In ViVid (ch.90), Vivio uses it at Full Drive again during her mock battle with Miura at the Battle Technique Disclosure Fair.
- In ViVid (ch.97), Vivio uses it to defend against Nanoha Takamachi's Blaster Two Starlight Breaker.
- In ViVid Strike! (ep.7), when Sacred Heart detects Rinne Berlinetta is aiming at Vivio's stomach, Sacred Defender is likely used to defend against her heavy punch.
