Stinger Snipe tearing through Presea's golems
|Primary caster||Chrono Harlaown|
|Japanese name||スティンガースナイプ |
|First app.||Nanoha (ep.12)|
Stinger Snipe (スティンガースナイプ Sutingā Sunaipu) is a guided shooting spell cast by Chrono Harlaown in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. He presumably learns this spell from his ranged combat teacher Liesearia, who can also cast this spell in The Gears of Destiny.
After firing the mana bullet "stinger", the caster can control it to take down multiple targets. It is a rechargeable spell wherein the "stinger" is still swirling in the air. It can speed up again for another attack with a keyword, i.e. Snip Shot, the keyword for projectile acceleration.
Name[edit | edit source]
The official spell name in the Midchildan language may be "Stinger Snip", considering the spelling of Snip Shot.
Notable uses[edit | edit source]
- Stinger Snipe is first cast by Chrono in Nanoha (ep.12) in the Garden of Time to defeat some of the golems that Presea Testarossa sends towards his team. The projectile appears as a single mana missile that Chrono is able to control at will, and is able to effortlessly take down its targets.
- In A's manga, Chrono also casts it against Fate Testarossa during her mage rank examination.
- Stinger Snipe is also Aria's long-range attack in The Gears of Destiny. The projectiles have superior guiding function, and will continue to home at the opponent with a circular trajectory if dodged by the opponent.
