Notable uses/variants[]
I have seen that the use is mentioned in variations, but it's still a notable use, and I thought it should be recorded there in shortform. Variants on the other hand should say how was the variant different from the normal spell, right? While both cover the same event, they aren't covering the same information. Use covers the situation and when it happened, variation covers the application specifics.

- No, our wiki avoids creating excessive number of articles for variations without much difference from the base spell, or those only used once or twice. The notable uses of these variations are covered in the "Variations" section after describing the corresponding variation names - when a specific variation accumulates increasing number of worth-describing uses, they can be moved to a separate article created for that variation. Nanoha does not use "Area Search" in StrikerS, hence it is not correct for you to include the bullet point for what she uses to find Quattro in the "Notable uses" section for Area Search article. Covering uses of variations in the base spell "Notable uses" section also makes it difficult to track the contents for an individual variation. --Hades (talk) 19:56, May 28, 2017 (UTC)
- And I wasn't saying you should create extra articles for one off variations. But if you are grouping something, as we are doing it here, then it would be logical to include the notable (not every single usage, but only notable ones) usages, not the single time some variation was used, but notable in general. And the Cradle one was certainly notable usage. Also I'm not sure that W.A.S was a variation of the spell used in TOS, they do have different names, but I don't remember them being functionally different at all.
