Zanbar or Zanber?[]

Which is it? "Zanber" has been used in other works (including multiple mecha anime) as a portmanteau of "zan" (slash/cut) and "saber". Not that this would stop the creators from declaring the official spelling as "Zanbar". Prime32 12:19, May 6, 2010 (UTC)

Have to check what the Japanese wiki has to say, but your explanation sounds plausible, so I'd stick with "Zanber" for the time being. --Koveras Alvane 16:00, May 6, 2010 (UTC)
Aaand the Japanese wiki says it's Zamber... --Koveras Alvane 12:01, May 7, 2010 (UTC)
B-but the Japanese language doesn't even have an "m" syllable. O_o Maybe the official site has something different... I wonder if they have these kinds of debates on the Japanese wiki. Prime32 22:54, May 7, 2010 (UTC)
PS: Aw heck, nanoha.com claims that Nanoha is a "heroin". Damn you Japan! :p Well, this vid seems to say "Riot Zanber".
Yeah, the Japanese love English language but that love is tragically unrequited. ^^; The official websites can't be trusted, because they are programmed by the marketing departments (who don't really care about the lore most of the time) before the scripts are finalized, and never updated afterwards. Which is why I prefer wikis, since they at least undergo a minimal peer review. As for the vid, I assume you mean the words "Riot Za?ber" that appear on Bardiche's jewel when Fate draws her swords, but for the love of me, I cannot see what letter follows "a" in that video (especially since n and m look so similar). -__- If we only had a clear screencap of that scene, it'd have the highest authority rating... --Koveras Alvane 08:49, May 8, 2010 (UTC)
Reverted edit suggesting that Zanber comes from zanbatou. "Zanber" is already an established name (eg. Daitarn Zanber, Beam Zanber). Besides, "zankantou" (ship-cutting blade) is just as close and it already looks identical to one. --Prime32 16:10, January 1, 2011 (UTC)
Noted. Thanks. K.Hayes 16:38, January 1, 2011 (UTC)
