Should there be a redirect to this page? When I needed to find it, I first typed in Tome of the Night Sky, then tried this. I think a redirect here would be a good thing for those who would prefer to use the right name. -GlancingReverse
Ruby characters[edit source]
What are they? --Koveras Alvane 16:01, January 2, 2011 (UTC)
- Ruby characters are small, annotative glosses that can be placed above or to the right of a Chinese character when writing languages with logographic characters such as Chinese or Japanese to show the pronunciation. (per wiki)
- For example, Graf Eisen is also called "鉄の伯爵 Kurogane no Hakushaku", but Kurogane is actually not an ordinary pronunciation of "鉄 tetsu". Therefore it is usually printed as "
鉄の伯爵" to specify its pronunciation. Reinforce II is sometimes printed as "リインフォース II" to remind the german "zwei" instead of "two". Other examples include many ancient belkan spells, which I would go through later. K.Hayes 16:21, January 2, 2011 (UTC)
- I see. Well, if you know how to do that Ruby thing, please go ahead. --Koveras Alvane 16:25, January 2, 2011 (UTC)
