Weichstütze (柔らかき支柱(ヴァイヒ・スツーツ) Vaihi Sutsūtsu, lit. Soft Pillar) is a supportive spell which sprouts magical barrier sponge (防壁スポンジ bōheki suponji) masses from the ground to cushion an impact.

Name

Weichstütze is German for "Soft Pillar". However, since "weich" (Ger. "soft") is an adjective, proper German would be "Weiche Stütze".

Notable uses

In StrikerS (ep.1), Reinforce Zwei casts this spell to save Subaru Nakajima and Teana Lanster from crashing into a wall, as they have accelerated too much to finish their mage exam within the time limit.
